To our dearest loved ones,
As you know, we eloped on August 29th, 2020 amid the global pandemic. With only our immediate families present (plus a very special surprise from Tom), we were able to recite our vows and share in our love, despite the hurdles we faced getting married in such tumultuous times. It was not the wedding we imagined, but it was special just the same. We were, however, missing all of you.
As COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on the world, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming vow renewal on September 4th, 2021. Although we wish we could celebrate the way we had planned, with family and friends dancing the night away on the very ground where Tom proposed, we know in our hearts that this is the right decision.
Enclosed in your cancellation notices, you will find a packet of seeds (sorry to our loved ones in the U.S., as we weren’t allowed to send seeds across the border). These were so lovingly harvested by Mackenzie’s grandmother, Shirley. We hope that planting them and watching them bloom will fill your heart and your home with happiness.
We plan, in the coming years, to welcome you all to our home for a vow renewal, where there will be good food and good fun…and NO, COVID-19 will not be on the guest list.
Until then, be safe, be well and be happy.
